DRAGOLANDIA: Otra de gatos
Soy hombre de palabra. Anuncié el viernes que hoy daría en este blog una noticia de gatos, y aquí la tienen. Es, a mi juicio, la más importante en lo que va de año. Ni la crisis, ni el hundimiento del Titanic de la Bolsa, ni el arrollador triunfo de Obama, ni la segunda magistratura ―pesadilla recurrente― de Zapatero, ni la negativa de Rajoy a ceder el paso a Esperanza Aguirre en la jefatura del PP, ni ningún otro cataclismo, entre los muchos que la actualidad nos ha deparado, supera en importancia a lo que ahora voy a contarles.
Mi noticia es buena y, por ello, excepcional. La di el otro día en el programa de radio de Isabel Gemio. La repito aquí. Viene de Japón. Véase la foto.
Érase una vez ―no hace mucho― una pequeña estación de tren en ese país que se estaba quedando sin viajeros: la de una pequeña localidad llamada Kishi. Casi nadie pasaba por allí. Estaba a punto de desaparecer del mapa ferroviario. Iban a apagar sus semáforos, a cerrar los postigos de sus taquillas y a declarar muertas sus vías. También el pueblo agonizaba.
Pero en eso llegó el milagro. Miles de viajeros, procedentes de las demás estaciones del país, deambulan ahora por los andenes del apeadero ―lo era― y recorren las calles de Kishi. Éste se ha convertido en un lugar próspero, dinámico, feliz. Las agencias de viajes lo incluyen en sus itinerarios. Las cocinas de los restaurantes no dan abasto. En los hoteles no hay nunca habitaciones libres. Los tenderos se frotan las manos. Los templos están abarrotados de fieles.
¿Y quién hizo el milagro? ¡Pues quién iba a hacerlo! Lo hizo un gato. Su nombre es Tama ―la a no es en idioma nipón desinencia de género femenino― y su propietaria, que se ha hecho famosa en todo el país, aunque no tanto como su mascota, regenta una minúscula tiendecilla en el lugar de autos. Sobra añadir que los clientes brillaban por su ausencia.
Estaba ya la buena mujer a punto de echar el cierre de su negocio y de ganarse la vida de otra forma cuando tuvo la ocurrencia de nombrar a Tama jefe de la estación.
Como lo oyen. No invento nada. Lo he visto en Internet con mis propios ojos, que no son oblicuos. Sí lo son los de mi mujer, que es quien me lo ha enseñado.
La dueña de Tama pidió permiso a la autoridad competente, confeccionó para su gato una gorra de jefe de estación, se la puso, lo filmó, avisó a la prensa, colgó las imágenes en la web de Kishi, corrió la noticia de boca en boca y de pupila en pupila, tronó radio macuto y…
Lo dicho: Tama es ahora una vedette, se le ha asignado sueldo en especie ―friskies de la mejor calidad durante todo un año― y la titular del tenducho de souvenirs, tentempiés y refrescos de la estación de Kishi se está haciendo millonaria.
Pongan un gato en su vida. Les traerá suerte. El mío, que también lleva nombre japonés (Soseki… ¿Quién no lo conoce? Es más famoso que su dueño), ha enviado ya una postal a Tama y está deseando conocerlo. Podría suceder que así fuera. Mi mujer irá a Japón a finales de diciembre. Quiere llevarse a Soseki escondido en el bolso para evitar el lío de las vacunas. Estamos discutiéndolo. ¿Lo retendrán en Barajas? ¿Lo pondrán en cuarentena al llegar a Narita?
Ojalá hagan lo primero. Voy a denunciar el caso a nuestras autoridades aduaneras. Caiga sobre mi cónyuge todo el peso de la ley. Es defensa propia. ¿Cómo iba yo a vivir quince días sin Soseki?

Estimado Sr. Sánchez Dragó: a través del programa de radio ” Te doy mi palabra” he tenido noticias de la muerte de SOSEKI . Solo los que hemos querido a un pequeño amigo entendemos lo que por ellos se siente y el dolor que produce su pérdida. Yo tengo un entrañable siamés de dos años , MICHIGAN, pero pasé por el desagradable trago de perder, por envenenamiento provocado por un desalmado, a Lupo, un magnifico pastor alemán que tenia en el campo. No quiero extenderme y resultar pesado. Tan solo quería justificar que entiendo su dolor, su pena, su pérdida de control emocional dando rienda suelta a sus sentimientos sin temer la oportunidad qu vd. persona muy querida y por ello no exenta de la envidia de algunos, propicia para quienes quieran con ello hacerle daño. Yo lo considero una muestra más de su seguridad y fortaleza.
Bien, trato de concluir una vez puesta de manifiesto mi solidaridad, mi comprensión y mi condolencia. Le ofrezco desinteresadamente un lugar de honor para SOSEKI en nuestro cementerio de animales de compañía “El Último Parque” situado en Arganda del Rey (Madrid) qu yo fundé hace ya más de 25 años. En él hemos enterrado parte de nuestros sentimientos más de 5.000 personas, algunas tan significadas como el maestro Ernesto Halfter o el ya fallecido Francisco Fdez. Ordoñez y tantos otros conocidos unos y anónimos la inmensa mayoría.
No me mueve otro interés que el de reconocerle de este modo los buenos ratos que me ha proporcionado con la lectura de sus libros y disfutando de la expontaneidad y vasta cultura que evidencia en los programas de TV y radio en los que participa.
En todo caso le manifiesto una vez más mi comprensión por su dolor y mi disposición para hacer efectivo mi ofrecimiento a traves de “El Último Parque”.

-Vivo en Salamanca y me rodeo de un perro y dos gatos, por un momento me puse en tu lugar y prefiero no pensar cuando llegue ese momento que será pronto pues mi gata tiene 12 años y mi perro 10.
